KANSAS WESLEYAN TOO MUCH FOR AVILA FOOTBALL

SALINA, Kan. – Following the KCAC bye week, Avila returned to the field for the first time in two weeks in Salina, Kan., taking on conference rival Kansas Wesleyan. Avila was not able to produce much offense and fell to KWU, 38-3.

The Coyotes put up three first-quarter touchdowns, with two coming on the ground. They added a passing touchdown and a 46-yard fumble recovery score in the second quarter to enter halftime with a 35-0 lead.

Avila got on the scoreboard thanks to a 46-yard field goal from Juan Delgado-Medina midway through the third quarter.

KWU added a field goal of their own in the fourth quarter to finalize the scoreline.

The Eagles could only produce 180 yards of offense on the day, with 124 yards coming through their air from quarterback Eli Williams.

Avila is back at The Z next Saturday as they take on Tabor. Kickoff is slated for 1 PM.
