Dom the Eagle
Dom the Eagle was introduced in 2000 and was named in honor of Sister Ann Dominic Tassone. Sister Ann was an avid sports fan, and rarely missed an Avila home game from the mid-1970s on until her passing in 2009. She loved all of Avila's teams, and was never afraid to share her opinion. Her competitive spirit was second to none in all her years at Avila. If you asked any Avila student who shared the campus with Sister Ann, they knew she was the Eagles' biggest fan, which is why Avila's mascot was named in honor of Sister Ann Dominic Tassone upon its creation.
