Zach Welch begins his first season as Avila's Sports Information Director in 2024-25. Welch comes to Avila after spending the previous two seasons in the PR department for the ECHL's Kansas City Mavericks. Prior to his time with the Mavericks, he held public relations positions with the Washington Wizards, Chicago Bulls, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs following his graduation from UMKC in 2015.

Welch and his wife, Veronica, reside in Kansas City.
