BOWLING QUALFIES FOR ITC SECTIONALS

BOWLING QUALFIES FOR ITC SECTIONALS

FORT WORTH, Texas – For the first time in program history, Avila bowling has qualified for the Sectional Qualifiers with both the men and women heading to Forth Worth, Texas on March 8 and 9.

Eighty teams across four locations throughout the country have qualified for the Sectionals as the Eagles will compete at Cityview Lanes in the Fort Worth suburbs.

The ITC Sectionals are the final process of elimination leading to the Intercollegiate Team Championships. The top-four teams in the Sectionals – based on the scratch total pinfall for the 64 Baker games – will advance to the ITC in Las Vegas in mid-April.

Avila will send seven men (Davis Best, Ta’Shawn Clark, Garrett Messenger, Evan Serrage, Brody Stanback, Max Sturgeon and Aidan Tesdall) and seven women (Tori Bestor, Kamdyn Burman, Devyn Coleman, Rebeka Fielder, Zoe Fox, Kiara Gonzalez and Victoria Leal) to Fort Worth next month for the chance to qualify for the Championships.

Among the 20 total teams in their sectional, the Eagles will be joined by local schools Baker, Ottawa and Wichita State in Fort Worth.

Per Bowl.com, Sectional assignments are based on Team Ranking System (TRS) points earned during the season. USBC Collegiate attempts to place no more than two of the top eight schools, and no more than four of the top 16 schools, in a sectional, based on the final TRS totals.
