
Golf: Clark, Berze lead way at CMU Eagle Open
Boonville, MO - Freshmen Abby Clark of the women's golf team and Josh Berze of the men's golf team led the way for the Eagles at the CMU Eagle Open this week at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville, Mo.
Clark played her way into third place after the first round of the open on Monday, shooting an opening round 82, just one shot back of the leader. Berze, who struggled with an 82 in the first round, bounced back with a final round 76 to climb into a 28th place finish, the best for the Eagles on the men's side.
Clark helped the women's team to a third place finish overall at the CMU Eagle Open, finishing in 8th place overall after shooting a final round 90 on Tuesday.
The 8th place finish for Clark was the best of her young career, giving her the first top ten of the season for the women's golf team.
Berze and the men's team finished in 7th place overall for the second consecutive week.

The women's golf team will return to action on October 10th when Avila hosts The Dominic at Swope Memorial Golf Course in Kansas City, Mo., while the men's team will be in action on Saturday in a match play event againt Haskell at Sunflower Hills Golf Course in Bonner Springs, Kan.
