GLENDALE, Ariz. – Avila softball dropped two games to 12th-ranked Hope International on Sunday, 15-0 and 8-0.
HIU used an 11-run fourth inning in the first game to secure the victory.
In game number one, Ka'Zem Wood, Julia Douglass and Emily Branson recorded the three Avila hits.
The second game of the doubleheader didn't go much better for the Eagles, falling 8-0.
Avila's top-15 opponent scored their eight runs in two innings – a six-run third and two-run sixth to walk the game off.
Avila will now travel to Tucson for two games each on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Tucson Invitational Games. First pitch on Tuesday versus Dakota Wesleyan is slated for 9 AM MST.
