MCKAYLA COTTON NAMED SECOND TEAM NFCA ALL-REGION

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Avila standout pitcher McKayla Cotton has been named to the 2025 NFCA NAIA IV All-Region Second Team, the NFCA announced today.

This honor is added to the list of recognitions for Cotton this season, having previously been named a unanimous All-KCAC First Team selection and the KCAC Pitcher of the Week for March 10-16.

In 33 games in the circle this season, the junior from Costa Mesa, Calif., threw 140.2 innings, striking out 105 with a 2.54 ERA and 1.18 WHIP.

The NFCA awards honor student-athletes from the Association’s six NAIA regions with selection to one of two teams. NFCA member head coaches nominate and then vote for the winners in their respective region.

All honorees move forward to be considered for selection for the two NFCA NAIA All-America teams, which will be announced June 5.

The NFCA is the professional organization for fastpitch softball coaches. Known for its highly-regarded coaches polls and All-America awards, the NFCA also educates and supports softball coaches on a variety of different levels: from podcasts to awards, to in-person events and National Convention.
