SALINA, Kan. – After a decisive win at home on Wednesday, the Eagles lost at Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon, 2-0.
KWU scored just over one minute into the contest. It was the opening shot attempt for either side.
Avila had three corner kick opportunities in the next 20 minutes, but were unable to capitalize and remained scoreless in the first half.
The Coyotes scored in the 39th minute and held a 2-0 lead into halftime.
None of Avila's five second-half shots found the back of the net and the Eagles left Salina with only their third loss of the season.
Avila (7-3-3, 4-2-2 KCAC) has a midweek matchup at Ottawa on Wednesday at 5 PM before returning to The Z on October 19 to take on Bethany.
