
TENNIS CONTINUES TO GROW IN LOSSES AT OTTAWA
OTTAWA, Kan. – The men and women of Avila tennis continued to grow in the program's first year, finishing with a men's 7-0 loss and a 5-2 loss by the women at Ottawa.
On the men's side, the doubles pairing of Drue Coen and Caige Bjornstad fought tough with a 6-1 loss, while Dominic Lunn dropped his #4 singles match, 1-6, 1-6.
Against the Braves, the Eagle women had a string of positive showings in the loss, including a 4-6, 1-6 loss in #1 singles by Danielle Jean-Louis.
Additionally, #2 singles Kylee Bragaw fell 1-6, 2-6.
Avila's two points in the loss came via default in the #5 and #6 singles matches.
The two tennis squads will host their second home event of the season on Saturday, this time at the College Boulevard Activities Center in Olathe versus Evangel at 1 PM.
