LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – Avila volleyball on Wednesday night dropped all three sets to Saint Mary in the Eagles 2024 KCAC opener.
The Eagles kept the first set close, falling 25-22. A back-and-forth set was eventually won by the Spires, despite a comeback attempt from Avila.
Saint Mary took the final two sets, 25-14 and 25-15.
The Spires led the Eagles in nearly every statistical category and were led to victory by more than doubling Avila's output in kills (45 to 20) and leading in digs (60 to 46).
Avila (6-13) has its KCAC home opener on Friday against Sterling at 7 PM.
