NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – Avila volleyball dropped all three sets to Bethel, the KCAC's third-place team, on Saturday afternoon as they gear up for their final two regular season home games this upcoming week.
Bethel controlled the first set, winning 25-13.
Avila fought back in the second set, losing 25-22. The Eagles held a 21-20 late before Bethel went on a 5-1 run to take the set.
The Eagles held another lead in the third seat – holding strong at 18-15 – before another Threshers run capped the third set. Bethel took the final frame, 25-20.
Daphne Gardner led the Eagles with 14 assists, followed closely by Lexi Schimpa's 11.
The Eagles return to Mabee Fieldhouse on Wednesday as 7 PM as they take on Evangel.
