
WOMEN’S WRESTLING DROPS PAIR OF EARLY-SEASON DUALS
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – After a week off from competitions last week, Avila women's wrestling was back on the mat Friday evening at Baker University for a pair of duals versus Ottawa and Baker.
Although the team had a few promising performances, Avila lost to Ottawa, 40-8 and fell to Baker, 40-6.
Matching up with Ottawa, Avila got five big points from Alexis Hatfield, who won her match against the Braves' Alsafa Alkhalil by fall.
In the dual against Baker, it was Hatfield again picking up five points for the Eagles as she took down the Wildcats' Sophia Castillo by fall.
Against Baker, Markayla Lottie, Chloe Taylor and Jaclyn Riedinger each picked up individual points for Avila.
