
ALEXIS HATFIELD TAKES FIRST PLACE, WOMEN’S WRESTLING HAS PHENOMENAL SHOWING AT YORK OPEN
YORK, Neb. – Continuing her stellar season, Alexis Hatfield took first place in the 103-pound division on Saturday at the York Open.
Hatfield, the NAIA's No. 14 103-pound wrestler, defeated Waldorf's Alanis Serrano-Rios by tech fall in the first-place match after beating No. 17 Sage Beltron via fall in the semifinal match moments earlier.
A phenomenal day for the Eagles as a whole continued in central Nebraska.
In one of her first matches in an Avila singlet, Nicole Redmond went 4-2 in the amateur division, losing in the third-place match to No. 20 Jill High of York and finished fourth in the 131-pound class.
Chloe Taylor went 5-2 in the 131-pound amateur division as well. Taylor was joined by Rihanna Ricks (2-2), Audrina Houston (2-2) and Jaclyn Riedinger (2-2) as multi-match winners in the amateur division.
In the open divisions, Markayla Lottie finished the day 1-2 while Byanca Cook went 0-2.
